Saving Transport Costs through Multiservice AggregationYour Needs
Converge 2G, 3G and 4G traffic over available PDH and SDH/SONET infrastructure to deliver legacy 2G cellular applications and new mobile broadband services, in order to minimize transport expenses and shorten service roll-out times.
Our Solution
RAD’s RAN backhaul solutions for 2G, 3G and 4G convergence over PDH, SDH and SONET allow operators to capitalize on legacy TDM installed base, to streamline large volumes of mobile traffic and simultaneously deliver 2G, 3G and future 4G services. RAD’s ACE-3x00 multiservice cell-site gateways (CSGs) and aggregation site gateways (ASGs) were specifically designed to help mobile operators and transport providers substantially reduce backhaul expenses. They enable efficient delivery of real-time traffic (e.g. voice and video streaming) and delay-tolerant services (e.g. IP, Internet surfing) over a single network link, with different quality-of-service (QoS) parameters set for each service.
RAD’s RAN backhaul solutions are ideal for mobile operators who own their transport links as well as for providers who lease lines from a local carrier.
Benefits
- Accommodate the upsurge in bandwidth capacity without massive capital investments, through better utilization of pre-deployed SDH/SONET equipment
- Reduce CapEx by conserving existing resources and trimming down the number of leased services, using lower-priced, higher bit-rate STM-1/OC-3 ports in network edge switches
- Enable cost effective multi-generation service integration
- Lower OpEx by simplifying network architecture and improving link efficiency, requiring fewer technician truck rolls
- Ensure carrier-grade services with flexible redundancy options, including full system protection
