Migrating to LTE and all-IP mobile backhaul

Migrating to LTE and all-IP mobile backhaul

Your Needs
Reduce mobile backhaul costs for existing 2G, 3G and HSPA traffic while ensuring an economical migration to LTE and all-IP backhaul.

Our Solution
RAD’s best-of-breed cell-site demarcation gateways enable carriers, mobile operators and transport providers to gradually migrate their multi-generation radio traffic to an all-IP mobile backhaul network, lowering their transport costs while enabling new LTE services. The future-proof cell-site demarcation gateways are deployed at the cell-site to backhaul 2G, 3G and HSPA traffic over packet transport, easily supporting increased traffic volumes from new mobile applications without device upgrades. When LTE is introduced, the cell-site demarcation gateways easily handle eNodeB traffic, supporting both S1 and X2 interfaces along with end to end OAM capabilities over MPLS or Carrier Ethernet.

Benefits:
  • Comprehensive pseudowire functionality with advanced synchronization capabilities
  • Scalable solution from a few Mbps per cell site up to 1Gbps
  • Interoperability with central-site mobile backhaul aggregation equipment from RAD and other vendors
