New Knoxville Tile Floors Made to Retain Winter Heat from the Sun

We were renovating starting with the kitchen. We took everything out down to the bare walls. The insulation quantity and quality in our home was awful, so we had to start over with each room. We also redid the wiring and the plumbing. When it came time to choose flooring, we decided to look at Knoxville tile providers. We wanted a thick tile to act as a heat sink to soak up the winter sun from the south windows in the kitchen and dining area. We have two very large windows that let in a tremendous amount of light. Heavy tile would absorb the heat in the winter and release it throughout the evening. In the summer the sun is at a higher angle, so it would not create a heat retention problem then. (more…)
